What happens when a wedding planner has to plan their own wedding? No detail gets left behind! But that’s no different than any other wedding I plan.
I loved planning my own wedding!
We decided early on that we were going to focus on the atmosphere of our 135 guest wedding. Creating a party atmosphere where we could rock out all night, yet still allowing my Cinderella wedding dreams to shine through. With a unique evening reception our theme became a Midnight Wedding.
The ceremony was modern yet traditional, with a vintage touch. Our rings and my dress were true to vintage and princess. The bridesmaids wore teal and sequins. My favorite color is glitter! Oh and teal too.
We were married at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Waterloo, and our vows were anything but traditional as we put a modern spin on our church wedding. Our guests were then invited to our midnight cocktail reception at Victoria Park Pavilion in Kitchener. My dream Ontario wedding venue as the hall features, exposed brick walls, a hardwood dance floor, and a large enough space for our all our guests. We added cocktail tables dressed in teal, and lanterns and pumpkins to go with our Cinderella theme.
We invited our immediate family (35) to join us for dinner before the reception at our favorite restaurant Milestones. This was a highlight of the day! The mushroom chicken was incredible! At our late night wedding guests dinned on hors d’ oeuvres and the dessert buffet.
They also got to enjoy with us our beautiful and delicious confetti wedding cake.
Even though it rained all day on our wedding day – I wouldn’t have changed a thing.
